NOMINATION PHASE: Headed by TCK
Create Nomination Thread - Monday
- Enter standard title with new week number ("Song of the Week - WEEK ## (Nominations)").
- Copy last week's Nomination Thread contents.
- Change thread status to "Nominations... are now open!".
- Erase obsolete nominators (those with no selected song that were above or between the highlighted nominators from last week).
- Update Previous Nominators counter to compensate for removed nominators.
- Move highlighted nominators from last week to bottom of queue, while calculating where new nominators will fit in.
- Update both Nominators counters to compensate for moving new nominators to the Previous Nominators list.
- Adjust highlighting to fit in top eight songs for new week.
- Relieve each Disqualified Album/Game by one week.
- Update titles for winning albums/games from two weeks ago.
- Add winning albums/games from last week to Disqualified Albums/Games.
- Preview thread; create when finished.
Update Nomination Thread - Saturday
- Change Nomination Thread status to "Nominations... restriction:".
- Add/change nominations on Nomination Queue.
- Adjust Nominators counters if necessary.
- Adjust highlighting if necessary.
Finish Nomination Thread - Sunday
- Add/change any final nominations.
- Close thread.
RESEARCH & PREPARATION: Headed by CHz and TCK
Prepare Nominees for Voting Phase - All Week, concluded on Sunday
- Delete last week's nominees from server.
- Download the nominees (top eight songs).
- Research info for the nominees.
- Use MP3Gain to undo gain changes, clear analysis, and remove tags from files.
- Use TagScanner's TAG Editor writing Complete TAGs (APEv2/ID3v2/ID3v1):
- Remove all unnecessary data
- Add Track
- Add Disc / Disc Count
- Add Title
- Add Artist
- Add Album (sometimes the Game)
- Add Year
- Add Genre: "Game"
- Add Comment (Catalog Number)
- Add Composer
- Use TagScanner's TAG Editor reading/writing ID3v1 only to fix cut fields and add DiscNumber to Album (make sure to rescan directory).
- Use TagScanner's Music Renamer with %album% - %title% format to update filenames. ((1))
- Use MP3Gain to track gain songs at 92dB

- Update nominee list in research discussion with updated info.
- Update nominees in Nomination Thread with updated info.
((1)) It's good to create a text transform rule to replace invalid file name characters such as ":" and """.
VOTING PHASE: Headed by Mo0
Create Voting Thread - Monday
- Ensure all tracks for the current week are in the Voting Directory.
- Close previous week's Voting Thread if not already done.
- Enter standard title with new week number ("Song of the Week - WEEK ## (Voting)").
- Copy standard Voting Thread template.
- Change estimated closing time if necessary.
- Delete "Voting is closed!".
- Delete Results section.
- Add URL to Nomination Thread link.
- Change/Delete Notes as necessary.
- Preview thread; create when finished.
Finish Voting Thread - Saturday
- Change to "Voting is closed!".
- Tally votes.
- Post tally.
- Ensure all tallies match.
- Add Results section with voting results.
- Reduce "Song of the Week: Voting Directory (click here)" size to 4.
Update Website - Saturday/Sunday
- Update ID3 URL with "http://songoftheweek.info/".
- Copy winning tracks to "music" ยป "week####" folder.
- Upload current week's winning tracks folder to server.
- Use Update Form to update database and generate RSS file.
ARCHIVING: Headed by Kaleb.G
Archive Old Threads - Monday
- Transfer obsolete Nomination and Voting threads to the Song of the Week - Archive subforum.
