Deleting old revisions
I deleted old revisions on Nomination Archive and Research Archive, since these articles only increase in size (though I did keep some interim revisions). Actually, I'm not sure why we need the Research Archive. I deleted all revisions for the Research Base before 2009, since this page is only useful for temporary information storage anyway. I'm thinking about deleting some revisions of the Nomination Queue & Voting Archive, but due to the limitation of the revision deletion tool I'm using, I would need to manually save all of the revisions that I wanted to keep (one per week), which is too much of a pain for now. I made a backup of the DB before I deleted all this stuff, so I could restore any information that is crucial. -Kaleb.G 23:06, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- Old revisions of the Voting Archive are probably not necessary, since I move the results into dedicated archive pages after every battle, so the old contents in the history are only taking up space. Revisions of the Nomination Queue could be useful, in that the Nomination Archive doesn't keep track of who nominated the tracks, so the queue archives are the only place on the wiki with that information. The Research Archive is pretty much pointless at this point, haven't updated it in forever. There's no real usefulness because it's pretty rare that someone nominates something from an album that's already been nominated from, and if I really needed the info, I could just check the Research Base history. Removing some administrator access
I removed admin access from every user who hasn't touched the wiki in over two years. This is done mainly because the revision deletion tool is rather powerful, and is available for any Administrator. The only people who currently have admin access are me, CHz, and Orion mk3. Now, I could just disable the tool or put in a hack to make it only usable by select people, but I will need to discuss it with my admins first. -Kaleb.G 23:23, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
